Competitors will design a practical wearable solution which would substitute for routine checkups. These designs should be easily accessible by socio-economically deprived populations in high-income countries
Junior Design
Competitors will develop a practical solution to resolve real-world societal problems with use of limited resources & restricted time limits. Teams must collaborate to present a working prototype to a panel of judges. Competitors must be in their first 2 years of their program.
Senior Design
Competitors will develop a practical solution to resolve real-world societal problems with use of limited resources & restricted time limits. Teams must collaborate to present a working prototype to a panel of judges. Competitors must be in their last 2 years of their program.
Consulting Engineering
Competitors are provided with a real world problem that is affecting societal needs. They will need to present an optimal and practical solution for the issue to a panel of judges.
Programming
Passionate competitors who have an interest in software engineering will be presented with a challenge of creating an industry-quality software to a technical problem. The software will be presented to a panel of judges for evaluation.
Engineering Communication
Competitors must identify a current technological process or issue and formulate their opinions regarding the issue. Competitors will present their viewpoints with the use of strongly communicated arguments to support it. The competitors will be asked to explain their issue and associated arguments to an audience not specializing in their field.
Parliamentary Debate
Competitors will take part in a parliamentary debate regarding a previously undisclosed resolution and they must either defend or refute it. Competitors will re-enact as an engineer supporting their stance about a proposal under a constraint of minimal preparation time.
Innovative Design
Competitors will apply their knowledge and creative thinking skills to develop a new product or service that will satisfy an unmet need or improve an existing design of their choice. The innovative design will be presented to a panel of judges based on the categories of design prototyping, feasibility, and research.
Re-engineering
Competitors will apply their creative thinking and innovative skills to redesign an existing product or service that will provide improvements or redesign it for a completely new purpose. The redesigned product or service will be judged according to its functionality and practicality.
